Typical Florentine markets

Immerse yourself in the typical Florentine markets spending time looking for the right souvenir to bring back home. Ask the reception, we will give you the right tips for an authentic shopping of local products.

The Central Market of San Lorenzo: the numerous vendors inside the central market of San Lorenzo, in Via dell'Ariento, offer the opportunity to buy genuine food products and typical products of the region. Take a walk and find out what the market can offer you; It is open every morning from 7.00 am to 2.00 pm, Saturday from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm, closed on Sunday and public holidays.

Recently the upper floor was renovated and hosts an interesting complex accomodating 12 vendors and show cooking points, each of which dedicated to an Italian culinary specialty: cheese, Florentine Lampredotto, homemade pasta, pizza and the famous Chianti wine. Imagine a unique shopping center completely dedicated to food and divided into categories and banquets where you can stop and buy something to take away, or sit and taste some local specialties ready to ordered. An opportunity not to be missed either for a quick lunch or for a dinner with friends. (upper floor – open everyday from 8.00 am to midnight)

Located in Piazza Ghiberti and Piazza Sant'Ambrogio, another local market takes place everyday: the Sant'Ambrogio market; it also has one part inside and one outside and it is considered one of the favorite markets by Florentines so we suggest a walk there among fresh fruit, vegetables, clothes, flowers, shoes and much more. The market is open every weekend (except Sunday) from 7.00 am to 2.00 pm.

Finally, if you are in town on the last Sunday of the month, do not miss to take a walk to the beloved Flea Market in Piazza Annigoni. Furniture and antiques, paintings, coins and jewels, it is really worth taking a stroll just to taste a bit of ancient Italy.
